When your baby arrives, you’ll be on “newborn time,” trading your typical routines for long snuggles and long nights. You’ll get to watch your partner in parent mode, learn your baby’s little expressions, and marvel at their tiny features.

What to Expect During Your Newborn Photo Session

Easy from the start

You have enough on your plate, so let’s make newborn photos easy. Your session guide will offer tips on how to prep your home (spoiler alert: it doesn't need to be perfectly neat!). You'll also get styling advice and access to my client closet, so you don't need to worry about what to wear.

Relaxed, not rushed

We’ll follow your baby’s cues for a laid-back, peaceful session. I'll be there to help you relax if you're feeling overwhelmed. As a former pediatric nurse, I'm a baby-soothing pro, and as a mom, I know how to get even the most resistant toddler's on board.

Your baby, just as they are

Instead of folding your baby into unnatural poses, we'll trust in their natural perfection. Expect to hold, cuddle, and kiss your little one as I capture the little things that mean the most. And of course, we'll get your pets and other children in the mix too. After all, they, too, are a big part of your baby's story.

You don't need a perfectly organized home to get gorgeous newborn photos. We'll use the best light and the spots that feel right, and then just let the natural love and connection lead us to images you'll adore. In-home newborn sessions take place on weekday mornings and limited weekend dates, typically between two weeks and one month after delivery.

New life meets golden hour light.

If you're still worried about your home or want something different, an outdoor newborn session may be the perfect answer. There’s just something stunning about seeing the contrast between your teeny baby and a sweeping natural backdrop. Plus, outdoor sessions give older siblings the chance to run free!

Whether your home feels like a peaceful dream or the inside of a tornado, the first weeks with a new baby is a remarkable time. If you’d like to go beyond still images as you document these moments, film is the answer. We can even create a film that documents the journey of your baby’s first year.
